As an organization that has working relationships with numerous social enterprises, NGOs, and academic institutions, has aided in the efforts to develop capacity within the community enterprise sector, and worked to help match the needs with foundations and donors with those seeking funding, we at Collective Responsibility have come to understand that there are still gaps that we ourselves are better equipped to fill at times.
Investments that we take with long term horizons, and in a fashion that leverages and strengthens our overall platform, we will use our own foundation to support organizations or people we believe in but may not be ready for the typical donor/ investor That given the sometimes very particular constraints of traditional donors, investors, and foundations, the conditions on the ground may not be fully appreciated, and that through our working relationships, we sometimes have a vantage point that cannot be captured by the traditional due diligence process.
Once operational (Late Spring 2010), our focus areas will be on developing capacity within Asia based academic institutions, social enterprises, and Non-profit groups that are focused on building platforms in the following areas:
- Environment/ Sustainability
- Elderly Care
- Urban Poverty and Migrant Labor
At the same time, due to the current lacking capacity in NGOs and Social Enterprises, we will also be developing grants in the following areas:
- Sustainable Leadership Education
- Social Enterprise/ NGO Capacity
While still in the formulation stage, we are already developing several grant proposals and reviewing others at this time, so if you are an organization that has a grant proposal you would like us to consider or are a grant maker looking for co-invest opportunities, please email foundation (@) collectiveresponsibility.org.
